38 in Review

Jacob Hudson

It's been 38 days since "It All Repeats" was released. Since then I've received numurous texts, phone calls, Facebook, and instagram messages showering me with compliments on this record. It's been quite a wonderful experience and I would truly love to say thank you to all of you who've  talked to me about this record. It's quite terrifying releasing art, especially under your own name. So hopefully you all know that I take all those words to heart.

I've received more press from this record than I think I have regarding anything I've done in the past few years. I owe a lot of gratitude to a lot of great friends who gave me emails to share the record with in the first place. Considering self promotion can be uncomfortable, having reputable press talk about your work is quite a relief. Reading all the kind and beautiful words about the album have me really feeling fortunate to have the friends I do.

It's been really awesome to see how many people have been listening on Spotify. As of now, most of the songs have a little over 700 streams. Which considering " The Tomb" just now is reaching that average says quite a lot. You guys are continuing to listen to the record which really does wonders for me as an artist. Know you guys are taking time out of your day and choosing to listen to these songs on repeat means a lot to not only myself, but all those who've worked on the record. So many subtleties become noticeable after a few listens. Many of my favorite records took me a couple listens through to fully appreciate.        The big push I'm on currently is getting verified on Spotify. They really do help out indie artist like myself, they only ask us to a little bit of footwork first. To get verified on Spotify takes 250 followers (which is someone who's pressed the "follow" button on an artists Spotify account). Before releasing the record, I was only at 80; fortunately, I'm now at 140! I try not to push things like that too often because I understand how annoying it is to see constant posts about an artist trying to push themselves. especially when you've already contributed. So for those of you whom have already followed my Spotify, I'm sorry for the continuous posts. I hope you will bear with me for a month or two to get this past. Some really cool things will happen if we do. I'm trying to plan some out of town shows soon, I'm getting a bunch of new march that I want to get in the hands of some people I know. If you want me to come play a houses show with you or just hang out in your city, shoot me a message!     Thank you all for listening, Jacob Hudson
